As we ring in 2026, we are thrilled to begin a new year that will mark the 30th anniversary of Melka Estates! We count our blessings every day and feel very fortunate that we are successfully producing some world class wines.

2025 was an eventful year with the final completion of our wine storage caves. It took a full two years from beginning to end, but it was well worth it. We are thrilled with the outcome with amazing light fixtures, low profile barrel racks and niches that feature amphoras and large format barrels. We also created an even bigger lab for our blending sessions and with close to 5,000 square feet, we can safely store two vintages of wine.

The year was also full of travel for both sales and pleasure. The wine industry's economy created the need for a lot of visits to existing and potential accounts, be they restaurants or retailers. Despite that, perseverance is key and we will continue next year with an already full calendar. We crossed off two more countries from the bucket list with great family trips to Greece and Egypt last spring!

2023 Vintage Recap:

The wines show distinctive vineyard typicity with depth and richness alongside extreme finesse and the ability to age for at least 20-30 years. This is clearly one of our finest vintages and the wines have received solid reviews from numerous wine critics.

2025 Harvest Recap:

The growing season gave us wonderfully cooler temperatures than usual and no heat spikes, which translated to a perfectly timed influx of fruit during harvest. We were so very pleased with fruit quality with clean berries and ideal, healthy fermentations.

​For us at Melka, it is the lowest alcohol year we've ever experienced with amazing dark colors and purity of fruit. While many vineyards had higher yields which resulted in close to 25% more fruit, we were thrilled to have a fun, drama free harvest!

This year's members event is going to look a bit different as we celebrate 30 years of winemaking! We will be creating a buy a spot event for the evening of August 14th and our complimentary afternoon event on Saturday, August 15th.

The buy a spot will be limited to 60 guests and will be a celebratory dinner in our new caves alongside many library wines. As usual, we will have a food truck on hand for Saturday's event and plan to throw in a couple of surprises for that afternoon.
